Subject: I have some very sad news.

I didn't know if I wanted to do this thred or not but I have to write it down somewhere and I don't want to put it on my Xanga and I don't keep a diary.

Some of you know that Penny has been sick for the last few days. She has not been eating at all for the last few days and has not been able to move. I got a call from my Aunty on Saturday saying I think your dog is going to die. I seriously didn't know whether to laugh or cry cause that information was out of the blue and the fact that Penny was not sick before. Then it suddenly hit me that she was not joking. I think my Aunty put off that phone call cause she knew I had my hardest exam the day before but she did call my parents in London and filled them in on everything.

Well I talked to her last night and I told her to take her to the vet to find out what was wrong with her. This morning she called saying Penny looked a lil better but on the way to the hospital she was throwing up blood in the car. The vet examined her and said that she was really sick. So in the end it was up to me to decide what to do. We had put my Aunty in an awkward position cause it would be hard for her to take Penny to the vet to put her down. We are going to get her cremated. So as of today Pen Pen is no more. She will always live on in my heart but I miss her so much already.

What hurts so much is that it all happened while my parents were in Europe and Saurav and I were not there. We didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. Well at least she still had people that cared about her with her. My Uncle and Aunty have been really great and have taken so much care of her.

It will be so weird going back to the Darwin house next year. She will not be there to greet me at the door with her big beautiful brown eyes and her tail wagging every morning when I wake up. She will not be looking at me with those puppy dog eyes when she wants something. She will not be running past my window in the middle of the night barking at pointless things or ram raiding at my leg with her ball in her mouth to ask me to play with her. One thing she was always good at was being her. No matter what kinda day I had or what mood I was in, she was always the same. She would take my mind away from things when I played with her or when she sat next to me with her head on my legs.

This could not have happened at a worse time. I have an exam tomorrow and I can't seem to study. All I seem to do is cry. I have to snap out of this. Penny always had a knack of sharing her dates with my friends. I mean she was born on Geetha's birthday and she has left us on Marvyn's birthday. She passed away 11 days before her 11th birthday.
