Well, this kinda has to do with me being gay so, dont read if you're not interested in my journey of self discovery :P

Today I had to do the late shift with Nina, who is a nervous kinda person, and Carmel, who is a talkative kind of person. Yes, Carmen and Carmel, and it does confuse people.

But anyway. Earlier yesterday I had let slip to Carmel and the Secretary Tesia that I had gone to Hog's Breath, as most of you know, the other Wednesday with my parents for my birthday dinner. I also let slip it was embarrassing because, you know, Sarah the girl I have a crush on was there. But i didnt SAY it was a girl, and I didnt say Sarah. I just said I saw a crush there, and it was embarrassing, because my olds were there and I was there and 'I'm going out there now, bye'.

So anyway, this evening on the late shift, Carmel somehow remembered that bit of me running away and was asking me about it again. I said well, I dont wanna say because it might not be what you think. And she's like (BTW she's like twice my age so dont get any funny ideas :S) well, how do you know what i'm thinking? So I said okay, you tell me what yer thinkin and we'll see if you're close or right. And so then she said 'well, you're embarrassed because its a girl'. And i was like '...ah, well, yes, well done.'

It's just really strange to have someone go to me 'ah, so you're gay? oh okay, that's cool'. As if it's just something else, like, I'm asian, or I'm not religious, or I wear jeans a lot. Just something about me which shouldn't be trivial and up for discrimination, and for once, someone doesnt give a crap if i Am those things.

It was such a relief to be able to talk to someone about it, someone from work I mean. Too bad I move libraries after Friday. They're moving me from Casuarina to Karama, because there's a kids library worker vacancy out there with the same hours as me. So they move me out there and Cas Kids Dept. has to deal without me.

So yeah, that was my strange something.
