Democrats: Stem Cell Research

It has been made abundantly clear that the Democratic party of 2004 is strongly for the use of stem cell research to solve many human health issues. Here are some of the policies and ideas being placed into the democratic campaign regarding this issue.

· According to Kerry a full 69% of voters support Stem-Cell Research. A majority of voters says that they support it strongly.
· Kerry promises to release the limit of research that scientists are given to conduct on Stem Cell Research.
· Believes that with this limit gone, scientists will be able to find miracle cures to many human diseases.
· Also believes that Bush’s idea of placing a limit on research rather than cutting the research entirely shows uncertainty in his decision.

Critique

I would have to say that in this case I feel that John Kerry is correct. Bush has said that the use of an embryo to gain cells is a crime. Yet he has not made the act of doing it illegal. He has merely put limits on it and let it go on. This shows that he is not capable of making decisions full out. I think that if he is going to allow it to be around that he should take away all the limitations and let it be done right. Stem cell research has the potential to bring the human race to an age where sickness is no longer a problem. I think that we should pursue that goal with great persistence. We should not be limiting our scientists’ work just so that it will make the situation look better. Either perform it all out or not at all is what I and John Kerry say.
