While I'm on here, figured I'd touch base about what happens next. First things first, I am getting the Fall drum break out to you guys (which, much like last year, will be played by the indoor group if you haven't already heard). Followed by the closer, which should be a pretty easy learn for you guys. We gotta be rockin' for the Prescott show!
On the indoor side of things, some adjustments may be made to line now that we have PAS behind us and we have a little better idea of where everyone fits into the group. The rehearsals are definitely scaled down after PAS. This "Dead time" is a great opportunity for everyone to take care of their individual needs! Try to get into some sort of individual practice routine (or practice with some friends!) as we still have alot of work to do before the season starts. This is especially important for those NOT on the fall line. Here's the list of junk to get done before the first indoor camp in December :
Battery - Must have the rest of the exercise packet learned! (8th note, Triplet Rolls, REbound Control, Flam Side!)
Pit - We gotta get the front line playing "uh" with four mallets! Also, we need to start freshening up some "Plained Song" parts...
All - The 60! I will send the revamped parts ASAP. The quicker we get this learned the better, because shortly after that (in about a month), Opener parts will start to be shipped. WE CANT START LEARNING OPENER UNTIL ALL OF THE EXERCISES ARE TAKEN CARE OF!
So, thats a pretty hefty amount of stuff to get done in 2 1/2 months. And remember, most of this will need to be done on your own, so maybe make a list of your weekly goals, and make sure you're checking something off each week. Everyone's busy, but you can always fine time for the things you WANT to do.
Hooray!
