Just a note to say how fun and exciting it was to have close to our full group at the Dec 1st rehearsal!!

Just a reminder that rehearsals are not optional or "at your convenience". Be sure to clear your schedule and inform your parents of the rehearsal schedule. Your parents are a PART of the team in that they can be a wonderful support system if you include them as a part of our team's success and don't set them up to be in resistance to the team.

To make this work you must:
1) INFORM your parents - communication is essential!
2) Be honest about when we do and do not practice and what the expectations are and are not - NEVER use WGI as an excuse not to do your work at home or at school or tell them that we are practicing when we are not.
3)You know what YOUR parents expectations are - if YOU are not meeting them, than it is your responsibility to do so. They are entitled to their expectations. You on the other hand may not use your lack of responsibility to those expectations as an excuse to miss WGI rehearsals.

I want to be very clear about this - to those of you that are sensitive to negative messages this is meant to create CLARITY about what we are about and what we as a group will and will not tolerate. This is not a put down - it's a challenge to all of us to work and play at a level of trust that honors ourselves and those around us.
I hope you will all step up to this challenge both musically and in terms of our level of maturity. Being HONEST and RESPONSIBLE are huge issues that will serve you well beyond the fleeting days of WGI - trust me, you will be challenged over and over again to learn these lessons in life. Better to step up now so that your current commitments are met with integrity and your personal relationships at home are stronger, not weaker because of your growth in these regards.

I am SOOOOO excited to spend quality time with all of you this season! I am stoked about our concept and the creativity that Seth shares with all of us. We have a committed staff to support your musical efforts and a lot of great parents, friends, staff and administrators that are cheering us on.

Let's have a KILLER year and give everyone THE GIFT that we all know and love :)

OK, that was long, but it's out of my system - so have a terrific week.
Be sure:
>you have at least ONE scheduled sectional this week - battery, at least one with Tanner.
>take care of GRADES
>Go to ALL classes (you know who you are)
>Communicate every day with your parents :)
>Make every effort to meet their expectations
>Finish your fundraiser obligations = $$$$$
