...DEF..ahh yes ,,the frustration. I overcame that by seeing Ed and Carol as two halves of a whole individual. She representing the " in need of security..afraid...fearful" and he representing the adventuresome..jump in the vat and stomp the grapes, aspect of an individual. So , in a sense, they are already united. their struggle represents the struggle within each of us as we forge thru life. More than once Vessey has said, that she feared loosing Ed upon his discovery of who she really is...and more than once he has demonstrated his ability to go beyond the bounds.
....The show is all metaphor and analogy. Okay , thats a stretch with fellini,,but I swear, some of the goings on in the bowling alley are reminescent of the surrealistic Fellini movies....I think Ed is TV Art at its best. It makes one think. How many episodes ended with Ed contemplating things?....The sexual tension has not been " real" for along time. That got deflated when Dennis came along. I've gone on long enough . ..and no, I am not a writer for the show. I am just a fan , who finally...finally found a website where I can talk intelligently about Ed....regards..........MEL
