That depends on several things. What kind of JJ, Japanese or Brazilian. Japanese is good but with your size frame it isn't the most practical. Brazilian on the other hand would work awesome with your frame. The only question then is who did he (the instructor) come up under and how long has he been training/teaching?

Don't get me wrong though, all MA is fine if you are looking to increase flexability and improve your health. JJJ is even a very good and extremely effective means of self defense, but for your height and muscle mass, it might not be quite right for you.

On the other hand, BJJ will kick your ass, hands down. It doesn't matter how big, small, strong, weak, skinny, fat or stinky you are; it will push you to the edge and make you hate your parents for ever giving birth to you. But it is without a doubt a great work out and an awesome MA.

It really comes down to what you are willing to put up with and what your goals are. You want to train for some serious ground-and-pound, then BJJ is the way to go. You want to learn some fun moves, get in a good work out, and don't mind having to pull your punches (so to speak), then JJJ will work fine for you. I just worry that you will not find anyone with a similar reach and weight advantage as you and thus you will have to facilitate your opponent in order to edify the learning experience. Know what I mean?
