hi folks,my name is Frank Wood and I served 3 yrs with the RMP 7th Armd Brigade,and was based at No 6 Section Soltau for two and a half years.I found Rats of Hohne whilst surfing the internet,and there seems to have been an awful lot of changes over the past 50 years.To be expected of course. Is there anybody out there who was at Soltau from Sept 56 until Feb 59. I was there during this time and had a great time,made many good friends. Must have been one of the first RMP to be stationed at Fallingbostel. 4 of us,under a Cpl J McCulloch were sent there in 1957 to enable us to frequently patrol the town, as at that time trouble between the Squadies and Civilians kept cropping up.We were there for approx 4 months,billited over the 4/7th Royal Dragoons Guardroom.I spent many days on exercises,with the Brigade Headquarters,roaming all over Germany. If there is anyone out there from Soltau who remembers me all that time ago,please get in touch witn Peter Richards. He has my address. In May this year I managed to locate an old army buddy Peter Williams with whom I was in training with and served with in Soltau,so there must be some more of you out there somewhere. After travelling all over the world I find that me and Eddie Powney are working for the same company and not too far away from each other. Haven't got across to see him yet but will do soon. Seem to meet up with old "desert rats wherever I go. Is there a trip to Hohne thyis year?

I served at 7 Armd Bde Pro Unit from Nov 67 to Jun 71. One of my collegues at that time was Rick Roberts. In 1973 Rick died alondside Bronco Lane, also ex 7 Bde, in a fatal RTA in South Armagh. We were all in the same section in 178 Pro Coy. None of us were permitted to attend the funerals, due to Operational committments. Several of us have now got together and we wish to put right that situation and visit their grtaves. Does anyone out there know where they are buried. Please help us to get rid of our feelings of guilt and do the right thing.

I was at the National Memotial Arboretum yesterday and coincidentally the RMPA Reunion was taking place there as well. I met many old friends and also spoke with Barrie Morris. The guys looked resplendant on parade. I ws there with my local RBL Branch and having spoken with many people I have written to RHQ to see if I can get my RMPA membership reinstated, Hopefully.we shall see. Brian, I have posted a reply and thanks for your message of kindness. It is sad that after 43 years I am banned from the RMPA, but this was done by small minded people whom I never served with. They must have got a kick out of it but I say that it is not my loss as I have had so much support since this happened. It is a pity that most of these people never served with us at Hohne because even after all this time we can say that we are still good mates. Perhaps next year I will make Hohne health willing. I have really gone down in my health recently I now have severe arthritis in both hips and spinal stenosis ( Narrowing of the spine) The fact of last years events have made me very upset and angry but pleased to know that I still have some mates See you soon regards to Mac Pete

Hello. I am a World War Two Historical Reenactor who represents the 7th Armoured Division Provost Coy (1939-1945) with the Texas Military Historical Society (TMHS) in Houston, Texas. Our impression represents the Redcaps of this proud division from the Second World War.

I would like to find veterans from this era or post-War Veterans who would be willing to speak with us about CMP operations, uniformity, paperwork and weapons used during the war.

I am a former Texas Police Officer (1989-1994) and former Military Policeman (MP) from the Texas State Guard (TXSG), 8th Military Police (MP) Brigade (1999-2001; 2004-2006) and served during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide us.

I cannot commemorate Remembrance Day with any ex RMP lads because of my ban from the RMPA however I help arrange the local celebrations in my village of High Ongar in Essex. Last year two ex Corps members came to the parade and service and I therefore extend the hand of friendship to any members of this site and the Corps to come and join me and members of High Ongar Royal British Legion on Sunday 12th November 2006 at 1000 hours in High Ongar.

Just to keep you updated on recent events. I have been booted out of the RMPA for reasons that are so churlish and petty I cannot comprehend. I was even questioned as to the validity of this site as I own it for the guys of 7 Bde, 7 Div and 111 Pro Coy RMP. I have managed to keep it as long as I do not put anything regarding the Association on to its content.

Does being there when the last of the Brits and the Kiwis pulled out count? Brian Longney was the SNCO in charge of 6 of us came down from HK Pro Coy for 6 weeks. Names are vague but I'll try and recall. John Lamb, married a beautiful WRAC Provost girl.Maybe I'll remember some more later
