As a former political science major, the last course about poly sci that I took in UCLA was about "why mortality has no place in politics". In this particular case, I'm gonna say "mortality has no place in legislation". Everyone has a different set of moral standard based on one's experience and belief. That said, I'm a vegetarian. I believe meat-eating is immoral and wrong, but I don't go around trying to make meat-eating immoral just because I'm a veggie. It's a personal choice eating meat or vegetables. It doesn't hurt anyone. The same goes for homosexuality. It's a personal choice (and a private one). I don't get why people are so obsessed with others' sex lives. Making homo illegal isn't going to make us magically disappear, recognizing our existence is the key. And don't get me started on religious politics. They don't really care about homosexuality.
