Subject: inner ear skin

I have some drumming on my deer ears but just near the inner ear detail in the butt of the ear. The skin didn't seem too tight, and i use liquid fast set epoxy. Could it be the skin is too oily? I use Eppely ear liners withough butts. I usually cut the ear butt off and glue the skin to the liner. I did sand the liner and submerged it in laquer thinner.

I'm wondering if i should have cleaned the ear skin with laquer thinner (skin too oily?). I'm also thinking perhaps i didnt' have enough epoxy in that part of the ear. The rest of the ear looks fine.

I also remove the cartiledge from the ear. There are ridges that go up the length of the ear....should those be split?

thanks guys. Overall I am happy with how my mount came out. Lips, eye, and nose are all staying in place. Just not happy with ears and antler base.
