A total of 38 people attended the first network meeting - a great turnout! This was mostly an organizational meeting to determine each participant's level of experience in risk management and our expectations for the Discussion Group. The consensus was that we all want to learn about Risk Management and how to apply it in our organizations.

We will meet monthly, the next meeting date, time and place are open for discussion. Please indicate your preferences for day of week, week of the month and time. We also need a facility with a "classroom" suitable for 35-40 people, if anyone wants to volunteer.

For those who are interested in attending the next session, we are planning to review the standard, ISO 14971:2000 Application of Risk Management to Medical Devices. Tony Chan will lead the discussion and provide his expertise, along with several others who have extensive knowledge in Risk Assessment/Risk Management. I think we will all come away from these discussions with more knowledge about the principles of Risk Management.

Everyone is welcome to attend - come prepared to the next with your comments about ISO 14971.
