Secondly, we play what is requested most, if those songs are played, that is what is being requested this is not a private party with your friends. We have to cater to what the people are wanting to party and dance to rather than to sit at the bar and listen, so I might suggest instead of sitting on your duff and griping, maybe you should get up, walk to the DJ booth and request what you want to hear! It's not that hard! We usually always stay very current and keep several thousand on preload. If you would like to put in an application for employment great, you may pick one up any night we are open. I will say that to be a DJ just because you think you are "popular" and you and your friends think that would be "cool" won't get you any job. You need real world experience in on the fly remixing, gain riding compression, networking, phasing, BPM sample matching, and sampling in general. It is also a must that you are fluent with several audio and video processing platforms as well as video editing and separation techniques. With that said, I am not even touching on lighting, and voice overs. Nomad and Dmx 512 general knowledge is a minimum. We use a 16,000 watt system that costs real money and has to be cared for in every aspect. If you fit the bill, sure come give me a break God knows I need one! I would not have a problem showing you the ropes, but if you want real experience in the business, you have to think of it as a business without bias.
