Need: Cauldron/bowl, candles (pref black, white and red), a blessing oil, blessed salt or herbs, a sealable bottle, ritual tools such as dagger and pentacle.
Prepartion: Put cauldron/bowl in center of altar or designated sacred space. Put the red candle on the right for protection. On the left place the Black candle for reflection of negative energies. Set in the back behind the pair the white candle. Draw the Futhark Rune Algiz (looks like a Y with a third line in the middle---or upside down peace sign) with a toothpick or nail into the white candle. Sprinkle the herbs (or salt)around the cauldron and place the vial or dropper of oil in it. Take a clensing bath and robe yourself in white clothing. Light a strong incense and walk it around the house (or your room). Be sure to "smudge" the closet space too!
Return to the center and light the Red Candle, then the Black, and then the White. (you can use three white candles if you wish-just remember to carve the Rune into the middle one)
Take the dagger (or your power hand if none) and raise it to the sky in salute.
Say:
Face East -"By the power of the rising Sun, make evil in my life undone."
Face South -"By the power of the noonday vast, All control is mine at last."
Face West -"By the power of the darkening night, my shield is strong, my armor tight."
Face North -"By Full Moon of Blackened Sky, I am not alone; my help is Nigh!"
Now lower your arms to your sides as you feel energy start atop your head and slide down you as if you were sliding down a dress of light.
Say proudly:
"The Goddess's hands around me stay, to keep me safe by night and day. Begone foul spirits, and evil acts against me - unbidden here."
Point to each direction starting in the east. When finished return to the east and say:
"I send you back from whence you came. I do not fear for I have won. In the blessings of the Sacred Name...and the light that is never outshun. Protected by this shield of love, as granted to me from high above! I am forever set free. You have no further power over me! Let it be known as I decree. As it is willed so mote it be!"
Face the altar and take up the oil. Put a drop on your finger and anoint your forehead-say "Crown of light, protective right!"
anoint heart and say "Heart of Gold, Power behold!"
Anoint wrists and say "Hands of Power, Guard me this hour"
Anoint tops of feet and say "Paths of Life, shield me from strife!"
As you do this, picture a blue electrical energy shroud you like armor slowly descending from the air around you and over your body. Cap the vial and store safely.
Thank the powers for their help and extinguish the candles. Aplly and repeat when you feel it weakening. If you wish, after you are finished, charge your power hand and draw the Rune over your door, windows, even your computer and phone. Do the same with the doors of your car.
