In reply to: Kevin & Nancy 's message, "Thank You!" on 14:49:09 04/27/04 Tue

Sorry it took me this long to post a reply - we've been putting the motor in, and trying to get all the finishing touches done on the car. :)

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU AND JOB WELL DONE to Kevin & Nancy once again this year. I don't think anyone really knows how much work they put into this event! HUNDREDS of hours, organizing, begging for prizes, running around picking them up, organizing them, signing up the drivers, working with the mall, printing certificates for everyone, making up posters for the main board, getting the information out on the website, arranging for the radio interviews, gathering all the supplies....it boggles the mind! And that's all BEFORE the actual event!

Why, just trying to work out where to put everybody so that all the classes are represented throughout the mall and so that everyone fits into the spaces available is AMAZING. A giant puzzle that's always complicated by people who don't show and people wanting to be next to each other, etc.

And remember folks, these people also have a RACECAR to build, just like you! Not to mention special circumstances this year that I'm sure made it ten times more difficult to even think about pulling this off. You guys are truly amazing!

I hope each and every one of you who had a car in the mall this year stopped to thank these wonderful folks. After all, without them, YOU don't have the opportunity to show off all your hard work, or to give your SPONSORS the kind of exposure that's going to keep them coming back year after year.

Think about it, this is the ONLY time that people are really going to get a chance to stand there and read every sponsor on your car, appreciate every detail of your paint job, ask you questions. The rest of the season at Frogtown (or wherever you race) they see the cars as a blur for the most part (hopefully). And if you've ever seen the amazement in a kid's eyes when they look at your car - then you know another race fan has probably just been made. Without them, there is no reason to be out there.

Thanks also goes out to every driver/crew member/friend who not only put the cars in the mall, but to those special few who stayed there and represented their race team all weekend. Believe me - it will pay off for you in the end!

Lastly, to those of you who thought the carshow was great, and want to see it be great again next year - send Nancy an e-mail and volunteer your time to help organize it. It doesn't have to be a whole weekend long committment. Try to get a couple of prizes from your sponsor, offer to pick up some prizes, give us a hand at the main table for an hour or two, there's lots of ways to get involved. It makes the weekend go faster, and you'll get alot more out of the experience.

Sorry to go on so long....but you know me, Nancy. SHORT messages were never my style. (grin) Thanks again, we really appreciate all you do.
