Yes, I've met Dan 3 different times, and got autographs everytime, but the only photo was the last time in 1995.

The pictures are on my Kindred Spirit Page, here's the link

Here's the stories of the meetings

First time meeting Dan

November 10 1993 (My 33rd birthday) Jackson Mississippi

My sister Amy, her daughter Dana, and myself went to the show. What a awesome concert with the band, with Timothy B Schmit (The Eagles) playing bass and singing high harmonies.

When Dan started his last song we moved to the very front of the stage. We were about 5 feet from him. At the end of the concert, I asked the roadie for a guitar pick from Dan's mic stand. He got 2 picks and handed Amy and Dana one each. I couldn't believe it, since I asked for one. Amy turned to me and gave me hers. We started to head out of the building, and I told the girls "lets try to go to the back to see Dan's Limo". When we got there, about 30 people were waiting for Dan. It was pretty cold that night, so after about 30 minutes, about 15 people left. About 15 minutes later Timothy was the first to come out the door.

As he came out, for some reason, I yelled out "Alright Timothy" and you could tell he loved that. He walked up to me first and asked me my name (in a very soft voice). I told him "Mark" and I handed him my ticket stub and he signed it "To Mark" Timothy B Schmit. I thanked him.

By then a few of the other band member came out, and then DAN came out. As other people gather around Dan, I got autograph's from the band. As Dan was signing, he was smoking a cigarette, a girl was trying to take it out of his fingers. Finally he said "STOP IT", she did. Why she was trying to do that, I do not know.

As he kept signing, I told him how much his music meant to me, you know Blah, blah...anyway, he didn't even look up at me, and said "Yeah Right". It kinda hurt my feelings a little but I was more determined to meet him then.

He got to me and signed ny ticket stub. As we stood there, he saw that I was wearing my Saving the Wild Places t-shirt. A very nice one that you hardly ever see. He said that it was "one of his favorite shirts", I asked if he would sign it? He said "sure" he signed it and I was beaming with happiness. I wished we would have had a camera.

He made sure everyone had a autograph, and then got in his limo. We headed back to the car, still in a dream state of mine. When we got in the car, the windows fogged up from the cold outside, and the heat of our excitment. As I drove out of the parking lot, we came within a couple of inches of hiiting a chain link fence. Beacuse of the fogged windows and our euporhia.

2nd Meeting

March 30,1994

Pensacola,Fla. Bayfront Auditorium

Myself, and my step brother Brian go to this show. Our seats are about halfway back on the floor. This is Brian's 1st time to see Dan live, so he is thrilled.

Same show as in Jackson,Ms. but Timothy B Schmit is not touring with Dan. He has started getting ready to do the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over Tour"

So Dan gets Mark Andes to play bass guitar, and sing high harmonies. Mark was with the group "Firefall" in the 70's and the group "Heart" in the 80's. 2 of my favorite bands from the past.

After the show we wait by the limo talking to other fans for about a hour. One guy I'm talking to has the b/w pic of Dan on stage in 1980, I tell him it's a cool pic. He ask his wife if she has another. They do, and give me one. That's the one Dan signed.

The band members come out, and I start talking to Mark Andes for about 10 minutes. Very cool guy. As we are doing this, Dan and Anastasia come out the back door, and someone saw them, and yelled "there they are". So everyone waited for their turn to get a autograph. I got the pic signed, wild places cd insert, and Brian got "River of Souls" cd cover signed.

I had my Caribou Ranch Studio shirt on, and Dan saw it and said, "Wow, I haven't seen that shirt in years" have you? He was asking his assistant. He reply "Nope"
He recorded a few records there in years past.I asked him if he would sign it, he said "sure".

He asked if everyone if they got a autograph, everyone said yep. So Dan said, "OK let's go". A few fans asked if he and Stasia would pose for some pictures, they did. I had No camera ...darn it.

As me and Brian walked back to the truck, the Limo pulls up beside us. Dan let the window down and said " Ya'll be careful going home, Take it easy". Needless to say that Brian and I were floored. We could not believe that Dan just did that. It was UNREAL.

It was one of the best night's I could have ever wished for.

3rd Meeting

October 1 1995 Saenger Center, New Orleans, La.

Myself, my sister Amy, my brother Robert, and a friend went to the show. I planned ahead of time to take my prize posession, a 1986 Alverez Yairi Acoustic guitar to be signed by Dan. I left my guitar in the truck of the car, which was only about 1/2 block away. During the show Dan recognized Anastasia, her friends, and parents sitting down front. It was a awesome concert, and a special nite, that I found out why several years later.

What I found out later was that it was Anastasia's 40th birthday, and Dan had secretly flown all of her friends and family down for a surprise birthday private party at Jimmy Buffet's Margaretaville after the show.

As the show ended, I quickly walk to the car and retrieved my guitar, and walk back to the limo and tour bus. About 35 people were waiting along with us by the side door for Dan. About 10 people left after about 45 minutes, so I kept talking to other fans about meeting Dan 2 times in the recent past. We had to wait about 1 hour before they came out to sign, and meet us fans. I watch as several people got autographs and talk to Dan. I notice he and Stasia were in a great mood, which I found out later why this was. Then I approached Dan and asked him (very nicely) if he would sign my guitar. He answer "sure", "What's your name"? I replied "Mark", and asked him if I could take a picture of him, and me with the guitar. He said "yes", after this happened I saw Stasia just a few feet away talking with her friends, so I pulled the parking ticket stub out of my pocket and walked up to her. I asked if she would sign it, and she said "Yes, but it won't be a good autograph, I just had surgery on my thumb". I said that was ok, just do the best you can.

We stood around for a little while watching other fans talk with Dan, and get their items signed. Dan asked if everyone got a autograph. Then Stasia and Dan got into the limo as we started walking back to the car.

As we got halfway back to the car, the limo slow down besides us. Dan let the window down and said "Ya'll be careful going home, good night" Once again this just floored me. This was the second time that had happened to me after meeting Dan in the past 2 years.
