So little we know,
And I only guess the rest.

Rhythm is pulsing,
A pleasant throbbing in my ears
As my gaze filters through the smoke
And lights upon your face.

Quick recognition,
You smile,
Oh you smile!
There's a glint, a silent sparkle, in your eye
When you look down.

Such a surge of warmth that flows within me
After that first surprised welcome,
I have to look away, and I am afraid to turn again.

Your words pull me back
To the edge,
And there I balance.

How I want to fall!

Time lapses,
Bends and flexes,
Like algae in a sea,
And my blood flows back and forth
In waves
As I dream past the look in your eyes,
The squint in your smile,
Seeing love and devotion.

I could live for that smile,
That recognition,
Though it takes my breath away.

"I really want it, I really need it."

I can feel that now,
For with each breath I am wanting more of you,
And that will keep me coming back.

To watch from below,
And wait for you to sing to me, and smile.
