It does not strike me as patronising to state a plain fact. If I had thought it patronising, I would not have said it as I don't make it a habit to treat people that way. However it IS complaining when we keep making the point that the books haven't arrived when we have already been informed that the book has been turned over to the printer. Whether or not the complaining is warrented is another subject. I don't exclude myself from being guilty of it, I simply made the point that there isn't anything anybody but the printer can do about it.
