Hello everyone,
my name is Jamie. I am a 27 year-old-singer from Germany.
This message is a little off topic maybe. I hope I don't annoy anyone, this is not my intention.
I just like to introduce myself to you. And maybe this is interesting for some people who also think about doing music and who are interested in the music business in general:
Ok, I've been in the music business ever since I was 19 years old. At first I collaborated with different producers, tried to get a record deal and well, you know, the whole thing.
The end of the story is: I didn't manage to get a record deal. So I wasn't quite as successful as N'Sync hehehe... :-))
Ok, but that didn't stop me from pursuing my dream.
Nothing else was ever more important to me and therefore I kept on going my way.
In 1997 I started my own web site. At that time the internet still wasn't so successful here in Germany.
I gained some attention here in Germany, doing local TV show performances, radio and newspaper interviews and in Aug 97 I ended up performing with N Sync in my hometown on a big open air festival.
So I was getting at least a little attention!
Then two years ago I decided: OK, if it's so hard to get the attention of the record companies... why still bothering them??
The internet had really become really huge by then and offered a lot of different ways to distribute music, which was a big alternative for me.
In the meantime I was doing my own promotion anyway. So I decided to turn into a new direction.
I continued to work on my debut album (which I had started with in 1997 also).
We recorded 30 songs altogether and chose 14 tracks for the album, which was finally released in May 2001.
It was a long way! But eventually I released it all on my own and I have no regrets whatsoever.
I am so proud of that. I have a little fan base so far and I am very fortunate of everyone supporting me.
Being here on this message board today and tell you about myself is another opportunity for me to introduce myself.
See, if I had a record deal by now, I would probably tour the country now. Would perform in clubs, do radio and TV interviews... well the whole thing.
And THIS IS MY WAY of doing promotion. My way of getting the word out about my music.
And I also get to know a lot of wonderful people.
I am also really looking forward chatting with you all here.

Ok, maybe this message was helpful for some people.
To make a long story short, it shows that you really can pursue your dream ... no matter how many people get in your way.
You just have to believe in yourself and believe me, it DOES make a difference.
Whatever your dream may be. Don't give up. Anything is possible.
All that it takes is just a lot of luck, faith, belief and consistency.
