Date Posted: 14:42:31 12/30/04 Thu The pink and purple sunset and the never-ending black top road is the only thing in front of you. The old Chevrolet’s frame rattles as you hit a usual pothole going down the old country black top. It seems as though your world is never going to end. But is it your journey to keep going until you can’t keep going any longer? Still your eyes are mesmerized by the beautiful sunset, and you just continue to drive. An old Country song playing in the background, and then it seems that your starting to come onto civilization, the first road sign in over one hundred miles, and it reads. 10 Miles to Remington Valley. Of course, you haven’t had a shower in day’s, and the fact that the food you have been living off of is the vending machines at the local truck stops, which weren’t but a hundred miles back on the high way, and that was when you decided to turn down onto that small turn off, and here you are. Approaching a town you’ve never heard of. The ten miles easily passes by, and then another large sign, that easily reads in fancy lettering. Remington Valley: Home of the Raiders. 2003 3A State Champions. And you just keep driving, your foot cramped down on the old Chevy’s gas petal, as the damn thing just seems to go sixty five full throttle. The sun begins to sink down behind the row of mountains just it looks like a skip away, and yet they were much farther. The final sign comes, and it reads: Welcome to Remington Valley. The normal reduced speed limit ahead sign is posted, and you begin to let off of that cramped petal, and old Chevy begins to slow down, as your beat up truck rolls onto the Main Street of Remington Valley. It’s your choice, will you stay in what seems to be ‘humble’ and ‘perfect’ town, or will you venture on? Perhaps there is something better beyond the Remington Valley lines, but what if there isn’t? At least you can stop by the local Diner and grab a bite to eat, right?
