Date Posted: 29/11/06 7:28 In reply to: Jan Prejsnar 's message, "League canceled" on 27/11/06 13:58 This is truly sad, and despite the fact that I am here only for a short time I was thinking that hockey was growing in popularity. I've been around a few leagues and if someone believes that organizing and managing ANY hockey league does not consume time and effort, well they are very wrong. I'm not sure of the finances and all, I have not been here long enough, but I do expect the people who run such leagues to profit in some other fashion than just self satisfaction, not to say that reason is not a good enough one. This is nothing extraordinary, and it is sad to see people jelous or angry with that fact. I don't mean to say that I know the ins and outs of what happened in this case, but hockey -at least to me- is to be a fun and enjoyable activity, where you get to play the sport, meet people and have a laugh. That's the way I see it, at least. If someone doesn't like the way the league is run, simple don't join. There are many things that need to be taken care of in order for a league to function. I know I'm probably over simplifying but that is pretty much the way things worked where I played before. Despite the fact of what happened now, I'm sure you guys will put your heads together and come up with a plan for everyone else who wants to play and is willing to spend those few extra $ - PLN - ;). I'll be more than happy to assist in any way I can. I apologize for a long post. /end rant Jacob [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
