I bought a near cherry Fairmont Futura and intended to build a 408 windsor motor. Being a Chevy guy from birth I was shocked by ford parts prices, and having a stout 358 from my dirt super stock (400+ HP with a 2 barrel) available, I chose to take the road less traveled. Thank you for your forum and the advice of contributors. My first purchase was a qa1 crossmember (i was still thinking big windsor motor). A mistake, but usable. Last week was the first trial fit and led to a sawzall attack of the engine mounts. A motor plate is the only way to go, and does not interfere with the swaybar install. The header search led me to the $50.00 per pound header company also but I would spend that on flanges, bends, and a tig welder first and have the welder and a header when done. When real progess is made I will follow up with more of the Mouse in a Fox House. Thanks again.
