I read the abridged "young readers'" edition, which is supposed to have used the same words, but cut out all the boring overly political parts and get to the point. But how a "young reader" could get through that, I don't know, because the words and sentence structure are pretty complex. All in all, even in the abridged version, I was kind of disappointed -- it was very inconsistent. Some of the stories were somewhat interesting; others just sort of bored me. Didn't exactly strike me as Pulitzer-winning material -- though there's a likely chance he received a little help in winning that one. I've read better.
The version I have is the "memorial edition", in which RFK wrote the introduction -- it's a nice little tribute, but it's pretty fragmented -- it doesn't really say anything or make any overall point.
