Wild Horses
...An ambulance siren whirles and a chorus of angry shouts fills your ears. Walking down a long winding road you find yourself in a almost silent mass of land, a placid lake glistens and you are alerted by a large stallion whickering calmly to his herd, young colt and filly bolt around happily, at closer inspection you see some other humans wondering around some very close to humans. Some chasing them foolishly with ropes, horses and ponies can calmly graze and bathe by law so there is a large sign 'NO ROPING'...

((After a Rather long abstence Ashquars Herd is back up, and better than ever...though unfortuently missing all previous members with the exception of moi.

Ashquar's Herd IS the largest Permenent Wild horse herd in Cascade, and is open to new members-horses and such, and humans are free to some and try to take one of the coveted equines...If they dare!

Any and all are welcome, as long as you are still capable of following all of Cascades rules. All previous members are welcome as well...and I hope I get at least most of them to return...*sob*))

the large stallion wakls confidently into this land, head held high, although binded with the collar, left on by his human, he knew he would retur but he wanted to enjoy this chance of freedom before doin so.

the large amount of feather about his hooves fluttering as he walked, the banner held high, falling well below his hocks. he bends his head to graze, long mane covering his face as he whickers to the surrounding horses, he was alone, & that worried him, even in the humans company he had never been alone

An infant's wail broke the silence. The shrill cry was heartbreaking to even the strongest man. A baby? Out here? The idea seemed unreal. Yet there, beside the glimmering lake, lying upon the soft grass was the small child, only four months old. Even stranger than this, was the presence of a black stallion named Ebony Knight. His frame of 17hh stood quietly over the infant, as if guarding it, much like a knight guarding a castle. The steed's ears swiveled atop his head as his eyes kept watch over the surroundings. His senses were heightened to the max, aware of even the slightest breeze rustling the grass. The stallion then seemed to sense a change in weather and adjusted his position so that the child was completely sheltered from the rain threatening to fall from the dark clouds above.

Questions remained unanswered with this odd picture. What was an infant doing alone out here? Why was this pure black steed so faithfully guarding it? There was a deep vein of mystery pulsing through it. There was a story needing to be told and questions to be answered. Answers that were, in fact, supernatural. Whoever came to claim both steed and child... would find themselves in a story beyond their imagination.

The boy-child's cries had hushed now. He started to fall back into an innocent slumber. As the sky opened and the rain fell, the stallion refused to move from his post. His instructions were to wait here until a human came, and to stay with the child for all of his days. The temperature dropped quickly with the rain. To make sure the infant stayed warm, the stallion often bowed his head between his legs and blew warm air onto the boy's face. The hours would pass and darkness would soon come... but they would both remain. They would remain and wait for the future to come.

Mare gallops angrily through the terra. The smells, the sights.. they all got swirled and twisted around in her head until she realized that she had seen that tree before.. She had smelled that smoky pit fire.. She had been going in circles. Letting out a frightened scream, she galloped away again.. She had to get out of there.. He was after her..

snorting and all but rolling his eyes Apollo prances forward his warning seeming not to bother the mare. smirk blanketing his features he reaches out nipping at Lady mare's rump hard. lobes flickering back before perking once more in amusement. hoofs taking him swiftly out if the mares reach only to circle about once more to nip at her shoulder if she had not moved away. a whine given, laughter rolling within. come on I know you want to ditch the human.. taunt soft so only the mare could hear him. bodice turning and twisting with agility and a dancers grace. tail and mane flowing along his dappled frame. unbreakable attitude seeming to be the norm when it came to his actions, a challenge that could get some one killed and that no one had been able to endure. the phantom that came and went, vanishing and appearing within the wild lands but never because of the touch of human rope. no, no one could contain and tame him, the spirit and guardian of the wild lands themself.

The mare trotted carelessly into the area, her nares filling with the many scents surrounding her. With a flick of her tressels, her heat auroma was added to the mix. Her nares picked up several scents coming from the stallions around, one she hoped to lure her way. This was her first heat, she wasnt quite sure how to get a studs attention so she lowered her frame in the shade, hoping her auroma would be enough.

the outlander mare slowly entered the forbidden area. dial was low as cautious steps were taken, she was new here, didn't have any friends, and she wanted to be wild and free. nares flared as a hoof beat into the ground, making dirt irrupt behind herself. voids blinked with little emotion as she cantered over to a fallen tree. dial lowered as she sniffed the fallen object, then she slowly walked off behind a small bush. tail and whipcords blew in the gentle breeze as a drop of rain fell 'pon her back. shoulders twitched slightly as thunder clashed up above. soon it would rain hard, and gypsy didn't have any sheltar in sight. dial rose for the last time as she let out a shrill whinny, calling anyone that would come to her

wind whipping through the stallion's ebon mane Apollo whinnies his arrival. cranium tossed to the sky with high spirits. dark gaze sliding over the territory before him the scent of many horses within. banner held high and boa arched he stands stock still listening to the sounds about him and waiting for a challenge. not wanting to do more then rest the night though the other stallion he sensed about would not know that. stepping cautiously forward he tentatively tests the air for the lingering scents of those that had come before him. hoof beats muffled by the long lush grasses that coated the clearing. audits perking he studies his surrounding once more before wondering over to the creek that he found running just inside the territory. mug lowering to the cool clear waters he lips it up, watch never letting up. blackened tresses sliding silken along his out stretched serpentine. hard glance scanning all about him for danger. a loner by preference and nomad by raising, spirit unbreakable and soul untamable. a dark streak to his other wise peaceful presence, not a stallion you wise to tangle with if one was wise.

jezebel fae, the lone ranger, the outsider, the outcast. for many did not worship mares such as herself, all those bitches chose to worship the foals and stallions. what did they ever do? how did they get so many followers? voids narrowed as she looked over the wild horses, frame remained still as deep breaths of life were taken inward. a snort was released, nares flared. oh how she hated others getting all the attention. well, that was about to change now. cranium was held high, boa arched as she pranced around in a circle, thinking up a ideal plan. moments later she decided, she would start a herd of her own, the most evil herd ever, or so she speaks. a smirk seemed to cross her maw, before the femora looked about. there probably wouldn't be any worthy enough to follow in her footsteps, but it didn't hurt to try not did it?

Silent treads carry the ghost like creature accross the green expance, the mare's slim legs shaking only slightly from her long run. Sweat coated the white of the mare's skin, dirt creating unnatural patterns on her flanks. Tired and run-down, she sagged slowly to the ground, her once velvatine nose blowing up a cloud of dust as she hit the ground.
