This is the forum for informal discussion of the screenplay. If you have comments, post them here and not in the actual screenplay.
Thanks,
G

For this year's screenplay, I have decided to combine two of my favorite franchises. These properties have grossed a combined 2 billion dollars. They are Star Wars and Harry Potter. If we combined the best of both worlds, how could it not be successful, right?
Kev thought it should be called, "STARRY POTTARS."
And so it is.
So enjoy the set-up, and make up the rest!

Did I suggest that title? I don't remember that.

Greg, you realize that you've left your latest movie idea exposed to the threat of complete bastardization by the very same jabronies you've selected to participate, right? Is that your intention? If so, woo hoo!

To Shawn,
Very impressive! It's scary how close your ideas are to mine on this thing.

You guys are doing are great job on the Starry Pottars! However, I'm struggling to come up with Sci-fi ideas at the moment, so here's another script to throw stuff at if ya want. This one's a romantic-comedy.... fo' the ladies.

It was supposed to be tongue in cheek humor, but it looks like I will need to out-scene Mr. JJ

I love Scotch - scotchy, scotchy, scotch. ...Looks like we're establishing an R-rating through dialogue only. What is this, a Kevin Smith script? C'mon, where's the gratuitous boobies to go along with all that innuendo? Just kidding. Some dope might be nice, too.

A moment of silence, please, for Manish's uncle.
Amrish Puri, who played Mola Ram in INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM has died at the age of 72.

I guess he was prepared to me KA-LI, in HELL!

This site is a place to buy and sell indie films. It's fun to look at some of the clips of the movies listed. Some of them look pretty good.

Here's another good link for anything indie. I especially like the shorts they have on file.

Ok, looking back I notice that I have made some mistakes in continuity for Dim. Skilz. This is mainly because I was too lazy to go back and re-read some things. Sorry if you're all confused...

In Greg's earlier scene he used "EMD" for the name of building Donnie works at. I have mistakely refered to it as the "OMV" building. Donnie works at the OMV office located in the EMD building.

Also, I believe Rich wrote a scene in which Leia implies she works at a law firm at the EMD building. For that scene, I'd like to swap the characters' names in that conversation and have Sara be the one who works in the EMD building instead. Leia is an exotic dancer now. ;o)

Got it? (Not that anyone is paying attention that closely.)

I thought it was a great time for Dim Skilz to get back to real time and proceed with the story. K only went back one week earlier and got laid to many times in that one week. The continuation works very well too without any breaks on the characterizations.

Okay, so I started a little somethin' new and different. I hate stories about writing stories, but that's pretty much what this is. I brought this idea up with Kev a couple years ago, and he convinced me the "mockumentary" format was the best format for what I wanted to do. I found it interesting how every time we all collaborated online screenplays, we all ended up going in different directions, so I derived this story from that.

I had this story and characters all mapped out, and I wanted to post it completely, but I figured it'd be more fun to post the beginning and see if it got more interesting than where I ended it up.

Actually, my beginning is different from what I had originally written, and I'm a little disappointed in it. But it came out on the fly because what I originally had didn't set up the story as well as I liked. Hopefully it's clear where this is going.

I hope everyone gets a chance to build on it! Enjoy!
