I have a photo of my father 'Gunner Albert Doswell' taken at Twyford, Hants in May 1940 and he has a type of cover over the top of his sleeve, for meny years i have been trying to find out what it was for, without any sucess, then i watched the film 'Attonment' and then saw again the cover on a couple of actors while on the beach at Dunkirk, can anybody please put me out of my misary and tell what it was for....
