Subject: We saw two Oscar noms too.

All 3 of those sound good!
First was Narvik, a WWII true story of the only battle ever fought on Norwegian land, as home troops and allied forces tried to repel a Nazii invasion. It was an epic story, and an intimate story of a family as well. Really good.
Second, we tried to watch RRR, an Indian film about two heroes trying to rescue a young Indian girl from British colonials in pre-independent India. It's an over-the-top almost cartoon style film with crazy fight scenes, and it's 3 hours long! We've only gotten thru the first 2 hours. Don't know it we'll try to finish it.

Maybe the teens are, because the Avatar movie is still #1 after 7 weeks, but I don't know about other movie goers like families and adults. The UA Theater in Long Beach closed during the pandemic and never re-opened. The AMC and Pike are operating, but never full. Streaming may be changing the movie world?

really impacted theaters. Our local theaters are all still running, thankfully, and we do go to them. But definitely not as much. Avatar is doing well because of the 3-D experience that makes it pretty much a required theater experience. Some of the films are produced by streaming companies like Netflix so their theater runs are short.
