The Banshees of Inisherin, a very dark comedy/drama is an amazing film, sure to get some award noms. The story about 2 lifelong friends takes place on Ireland's Aran Islands, with beautiful scenery that enhances the moodiness.

Also saw Amsterdam, based on a fake(?) Nazi/Fascist plot to overthrow the US Government and replace it with a military dictatorship, funded by several mega-wealthy US industrialists. Amazing cast of great actors could not fix this over-long, messy script. No wonder crowds stayed away from this one.

read about Amsterdam and it didn't sound great, but the cast almost made me want to see it anyway.
