Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw

three. First, on the plane to Atlanta with welcome distractions from my 9-week old great nephew and other family members and nodding off, I watched Amsterdam. The cast was great: Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Any Taylor-Joy, Rami Malek, John David Washington, Taylor Swift and Zoe Saldana. Unfortunately, I may need to watch it again as I didn't know what was going on LOL!
Once home, I watched Women Talking, an amazing film based on a true story (written and directed by women) of a Mennonite colony that was ravaged by the mass rape of women and girls. The talking was among the younger and elder women on what to do after all the violence. It was really good.
Then, right before the Oscars, I saw The Whale. As much as I had been rooting for Austin Butler to win for best actor, I switched to Brendan Fraser. He was amazing in this heartbreaking, tearjerker of a film. It wrecked me. But it was beautiful.

I didn't understand Amsterdam either, lol.
saw The Fablemans, liked it just ok, the ending was awesome! Also saw The Elephant Whisperer, the documentary short, which we loved. Its a must see, so uplifting.
Still need to see Everything..., and The Whale. None of these movies are playing locally and/or are not on the streaming services we have. Maybe they'll open up. I was disappointed about Austin Butler, Colin Ferrel not winning. All Quiet on the western Front did well, and its good, but just so sad.

exclusive to Neflix for now it seems. I do want to see it when it becomes more widely available. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got lost in the plot of Amsterdam!
