restrictions, they vary from country to country and change all the time. Our cruise required proof of vaccination, Spain required proof as well. I don't think we had to do anything for Portugal other than fill out a form with our travel info. in case we needed to be contacted regarding exposure. Masks were only required on flights and other public transportation. When we went to France last year, it was a bit more restrictive of course being that it was a year ago. Spain and Portugal both have very high vaccination rates, some of the highest in Europe.

We are not doing a cruise, which I'm happy about because 2 of my relatives came back from cruises with Covid, tho all are ok now.

a couple of nights in Lisbon and at the end of the cruise, a couple of nights in Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Both Portugal and Spain were having a bad heat wave and fires, so we felt right at home.

lot hurdles to jump even for just a connecting flight. So I hope it's not as restrictive now if that's the direction you are headed.

but I have to say that Heathrow, the 2-3 times I have been thru, it's been confusing and delay-prone. If only those big hubs could be like Long Beach or OC airport.

on July 5th and Heathrow was chaos. 45 minutes to drop my bag (line had about 10 people in it in about 4 "families") and then an hour plus to go through security in the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class wing (sometimes medallion status helps) where it should take about 10-15 minutes.

And that is probably where I got COVID. Luckily it wasn't a serious case and I am fine now.

was no limit on the number of people crammed in there. We were lucky that we didn't get it. The rest of the airport is great, but the tram between gates is crazy. And we had to use it coming and going. Our experience at Heathrow last September was not good. I'd avoid it any way I could in the future.
