Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? i

started my holiday movie watching with an old favorite that isn't really a Christmas movie, but it takes place during the holidays so it counts: Trading Places, starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Ackroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's been one of my favorites for years, but it's kind of hard to find, so I bought the DVD.

The new Netflix movie Leave the World Behind, starring Julia Roberts, and Kevin Bacon as a survivalist, when a "disaster" strikes the US. Creepy as hell and really tense, great ending.
Finally got to see Everything, Every... etc. So bad and stupid we didn't even finish it. Absolutely incomprehensible. This won best whatever? Whaaaa....
My fav Xmas film is Die Hard, lol. Not really that Christmassy but I love it.

some didn't care for it. Using multiverse storytelling can be a real brain strain to follow. I have only liked a few films that use that method.

I would be able to follow it. I’ve heard the term, but don’t think I’ve ever seen it performed. Can you explain it?

either the same time or staggered time that are slightly different or in some cases exaggerated versions of the main story universe. It is used in some science fiction and a lot of Marvel films. I most enjoyed it's use in the series Counterpart with J.K. Simmons. It was only two universes, rather than several, so much easier to follow. So let's say a main character is in the observable universe (main story), but finds him/herself transported to another universe where the world seems the same but also different. Even the old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie The Last Action Hero is considered multiverse. I am not good at explaining LOL!
