I think they got it right as far as the history, how the soaps hit the top of their popularity in the 70s & 80s. Then women headed off to work, and the night-time soaps took over and daytime started to fade. It was interesting to hear about AMC's devotion to "ripped from the headlines" stories that were controversial subjects: aids, homosexuality, violence against women. I don't think they do that anymore, at least Days does not. It was a well done piece.

OJ basically killed the soaps in his murder spree. It was nice seeing people who had moved on from soaps give their perspectives too. I love Bryan Cranston. I cried all over again when they showed Stone dying on GH. My only issue was the Andy Cohen sections where he basically said "reality" shows were better than scripted dramas. They aren't even close. I'm not much of a Cohen fan anyway.

But you're right, the OJ trial literally changed the public's taste for tv. Reality tv is so cheap to produce, and it shows, and I really think its more schadenfreude more than anything. I know others just love the Housewives of wherever, but I just can't. I like Project Runway but that's about all.
