Fantastic film, wonderful acting and a script/story that just told the story of Harriet Tubman's efforts working with the Underground Railroad. It didn't try to tell the whole story of the Civil War or slavery or politics, just Harriet's amazing story.
I predict many Oscar noms for this one and its stars.

was a tour de force for Joaquin Phoenix. He should earn an Oscar nomination for this. It was an origin story of the Batman villain (which includes a young Bruce Wayne) and his history of mental illness and abuse. It's pretty brutal and quite sad, but it fits the canon of the bigger Batman world that has been frequently depicted. Phoenix inhabited this character with every movement of his body and face. It was impressive. Oh, and Frances Conroy plays his mom! I love her.
