Ricky Gervais was hysterical, and I was surprised, happy and/or mad about the winners. I was so happy that Brad and Quentin were awarded, can't wait to see 1917 now. Completely annoyed about Fleabag and Succession - I can't stand either of them. I was disappointed for Reese and Nicole, happy for Elton and Olivia. An awards show can be great with a good host an no performances.

Joaquin Phoenix, Michelle Williams, Quentin Tarantino, Chernobyl and yes, Succession! Brian Cox is so good as is the whole cast. I wanted Kieran Culkin to win.

The characters are caricatures - comedic, ridiculous, vulgar and hateful, scrambling at their father's feet for power and wealth while he abuses them. Ugh. It's really the vulgar language and lack of respectable characters that I dislike. Even the Sopranos loved each other, lol.

is based on the Murdochs so you know they are pretty horrible. But that blistering zingy dialogue, sibling backstabbing and wonderful score has me hooked. I love the show so much.
