play Phyllis. Gina Tognoni is out. Here's the story from DC:

Multiple sources have confirmed popular soap actress Michelle Stafford is leaving General Hospital to return to The Young and The Restless. Stafford will be reprising the role of Phyllis Summers, currently being played by Gina Tognoni since 2014.

Sources reveal Tognoni has been let go at Y&R.

Michelle's contract negotiations at GH went down to the wire and they couldn't make a deal, explains one insider.

CBS Daytime allegedly jumped at the chance to lure Stafford, who like Tognoni is a Daytime Emmy winner, back to the fold.

No word on what GH plans to do with the character of Nina Cassadine, which Stafford has portrayed since 2014.

Nina or if the reveal that Valentin used her deepest desire/pain as a weapon to get her back will finally turn her against him and have her leave possibly coming back in a bit with a new actor. TPTB have spent a lot of time shoving Nina down our throats but would they continue to do so without MS?

As someone who watches Y&R I am not all that happy. It is kind of like when Steve B left and then turned around after Y7R let him go and suddenly wanted to return. At least Billy Miller did not lose his job to accommodate Sb though he did lose a lot of air time.

It was a Friday cliff hangar gasp moment and we did not see her again for a while. I do not like the character of Nina and I am just fine if she leaves town in a huff or Shiloh kills her. The cast needs slimming as it is.
