I am a bit visually challeneged and so i wonder if it is just me or not. I have to say because it was so hard for me to see I found the show long and a bit monotonous exactly what the showrunners said in the inside the episode segment that they were trying to avoid. Did not work for me. As LA said it was obvious Theon was a goner. He had come full circle and made what amends he could so his story was finished. So glad that he was told he was a good man and that he had come home. His death made me cry.

By the same token I thought Jorah would die as well and likely defending Dani to the last He too had come to the seeming end og his story especially after he told Tyrion he was the right man to be the Hand. He knew Dani could never love him the way he loved her so there was no future there and Lady Mormant pretty much welcomed him back in the fold of the family. I will miss him but he died as he would have wanted to with Dani holding him.

LOVED that they gave Lady Mormaont a good death taking out the giant. Apparently she was supposed to be a one scene character but the actress bowled them over so she stayed on and was an important secondary character

Did not feel like Edd or Beric had more to contribute either so they were a loss but not unexpected.

Sam kind of bugged me. I know he is not the bravest of people but watching him whimper while everyone else was trying to save the world was annoying.

On the upside I liked the brief return of Melisandre and the way she reminded Arya of Syrio and the line what do we say to the God of Death? Not today. And the fact that she reminded her it was her destiny to shut BLUE eyes forever. Cue Arya the badass saving the day. My friend actually called that saying that her stealth made her the best one to try to get the Night King.

Loved Tyrion and Sansa in the crypt. Though, yeah, that was a dumb place to hide.

The way they showed the Dothraki getting literally extinguished was a cool choice though a bummer. Not sure how many Unsullied survived either. Pretty sure akk the other "names" made it through but they are not much of a force to go against Cersei.

I cried when Theon died too. His bond with Sansa as survivors of Ramsay was really special. I am going to watch it again, but I think Arya may have done a face swap with a walker to sneak up on Night King. So much happened that I need to see it again. I agree about Sam. He's such a wuss LOL! But I like him anyway.
