Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw

Saltburn. I wanted to see it for two reasons, Irish actor Barry Keoghan and the always great Rosamund Pike, and Emerald Fennell, the director/writer of a movie I really liked a few years ago: Promising Young Woman. She won an Oscar for the screenplay of that one. She also wrote and directed Saltburn. I can't even describe this one without spoiling some things. I will say that there is a lot of male nudity (all Barry) and he was quite a brave lad for some of those scenes! It is a dark take on the idle rich and the greed of a sociopath.

Yes, Saltburn was weirdly fascinating to watch. Creeped me out!
We watched Killers of the Flower Moon over 2 days, 1.5 hrs at a stretch. First, the movie is good, but way too long. Everything in it felt drawn out for no reason. What a horrible. depressing, violent story of racial discrimination and greed. Gave me a nightmare.

the violence as I know how Scorsese films tend to be with over the top bloody mayhem. The discrimination aspect I know will be disturbing.
