Are there any big surprises? Snubs? Noms?

I haven't even heard of The Zone of Interest.

who was not nominated for best director. In my mind, the best movie/director must go together. It's like saying Picasso is the best artist, but his paintings suck. Makes no sense. That said, I hated Barbie, even Ryan Gosling. I disliked Maestro, but I guess Cooper was good. Blech. I'm surprised that Robert Dinero and Leonardo di Caprio got no noms for Flower Moon. Zone of Interest is about WWII, people living near Auchwitz, as if nothing was happening.

about it. I still have a few of these to see, but there's time. It's cool that Colman Domingo got a nom. Going from Walking Dead to an Oscar nomination is quite a feat.

on the BBC site about Robbie and Gerwig getting snubbed and from everything I have heard about the movie that does seem utterly ridiculous. Ryan Gosling has certainly been vocal about the idiocy of it.

I heard Coleman Domingo was amazing in Ruskin. I didn't watch TWD but kudos to him for going from there to an Oscar nom.
