Subject: Movie Thursday! Well, Hulu released

Poor Things today and I have been waiting for it. Holy crap, Emma Stone owns this. It's a Frankenstein-esque story of a woman recreated by her "God" Willem Dafoe, an eccentric scientist of what appears to be the 19th century era. He tries to make her a person of her time in manners, etc., but she has the brain of a baby (it has to be seen to understand) and develops slowly without filters or restraint. Let out in the world, she only knows she wants pleasure, equality and freedom, which were not things women were allowed much of. It's funny, poignant and there's lots of sex. Emma Stone is also the producer and the other stars are Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef.

hated it or loved it. No in-between or meh here. I look forward to seeing it, but it won't be before the Oscars, sadly.
