Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I spent the weekend

in the pool. This heatwave has been brutal. I didn't see any movies, but we watched a lot of football. We were lucky we didn't lose power, but it was out in a lot of the areas around us.

The Perfect Couple, starring Nicole Kidman and Liev Schriber, about a murder mystery among the ultra-rich in the Hamptons. It's a bit like Big Little Lies, pretty places, people and some truly bad characters! I was at an art workshop all weekend and missed both US Open tennis finals.

[> No movies but binged Palm Royale on Apple -- AllyG, 13:36:12 09/09/24 Mon [1]

I was cat sitting for my sister and had access to the service.

Palm Royale was a hoot. My grandparents used to take us to Palm Beach when we spent Sprung Break with them so it was fun to think of those days. Great cast. Carol Burnett, Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin among others. Story of a wannabe trying to join the in crowd essentially. Even though Kristen Wiig's character does some reprehensible things to try to belong you can't help but root for her. Carol Burnett is unable to speak for a lot of the show and she is still hilarious.

There is supposed to be a season 2 so I might have to cat sit again :)
