Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw three movies.

The first was the best. Sinners is great! And having Michael B. Jordan playing twins makes it doubly good. I hope this Ryan Coogler film gets nominated as best picture.

Next, I saw Mountainhead, billed as a comedy/drama, it stars Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman, Cory Michael Smith and Ramy Youssef. Its written by the writer/creator of Succession so I was hoping for that brand of sharp dialogue. It has all that. Four billionaires gather at a retreat while the world falls apart amidst deep fake videos and AI-generated social media created by a couple of these jerks. It is a bit too on the nose with our current world climate so it felt more like a warning than an entertainment.

The third movie was The Last Showgirl. Pamela Anderson deserves all the accolades she received last year for her performance. Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song and Billie Lourd were very good as well, but the story was a little thin and also pretty sad.

We saw it in the theater, and wanted to see it again because of the music and to actually hear all the dialog you miss the first time. It's so good. I have not seen the Last Showgirl, prob not going to. Fountainhead sounds interesting. We are enjoying The Guilded Age on Netflix.great story and amazing costumes.

for free because I pay for HBO. Started watching Hacks. Also been watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on Acorn. Talk about fabulous clothes :)
