Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw

The Phoenician Scheme, the latest Wes Anderson film. I am a fan of his films, but I know they are not for everyone. The whimsical, colorful style, etc. make his work very distinctive. This one was a little bit more goofy than some of his previous work, but I liked it a lot. The cast is loaded. It stars Benicio del Toro along with Mia Threapleton and Michael Cera as the leads. The supporting and cameo cast is insane. It includes Willem Dafoe, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, F Murray Abraham, Rupert Friend, Hope Davis, Bill Murray and Benedict Cumberbatch! Whew!

Neither were my type of films. I'm not a Superman fan, but my husband likes the franchise. He was so disappointed with the boring, loud, plotless, AI film that he wanted his $ back. Rachel Brosnehan had no script worthy of her.
Wicked was also blah, just banal and chirpy, and ripped off parts of other movies. But I don't like musicals much so I expected to dislike it. Just wanted to see what all the hype was about.
The movie you saw sounds intriguing. Where did you see it?

cute, but it didn't measure up to seeing the stage version in my opinion. I do like musicals though.
