Sentimental Value. Fantastic. Aside from the awesome Norwegian and Swedish cast, it was beautifully filmed with the generational home at the center of the story really being the star. The film had family angst, generational trauma, daddy issues and real character development. That's right in my wheelhouse! The naturalistic performances of the two sisters (played by Norwegian actresses Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) and the amazing Swede, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, were top notch.

Sometimes I like a movie more the 2nd time around, seeing more details and maybe understanding the dialog better. It's just a beautiful film.
Glad you enjoyed Sentimental, I always get frustrated by sub-titled movies because I feel like I'm missing actually seeing the action because I'm busy reading the screened words. What did you think of Elle Fanning's part?

seating, popcorn and wine closer to the TV for subtitled films LOL! I thought Elle Fanning was fine. Her character was sort of the catalyst for the father/daughter relationship beginning to thaw. But I really liked the actresses playing the daughters.
And I am planning to watch another subtitled movie this week, the Oscar-nominated film from Iran. I like to catch at least a couple of the international film nominees.
