Date Posted: 13:02:15 08/31/05 Wed I just wanted to take a moment to let y'all know that I am thinking of each and everyone of you that have familes in New Orleans and surrounding areas. I know that you all must be feeling quite helpless at the moment since you are where you are and your families are trying to survive Katrina. I don't know what type of coverage y'all are getting but please know that the rescue operations are going slowly but definately picking up. The Coast Guard and National Guards are on a search and rescue mission as I type this. They have rescued over 1000 people and they are determined to find as many people as they can. There are 50 Helicopters on this mission. Refugees are being bused to Houston's Astrodome. Approximately 25,000 people. And more help is on it's way from every state including Florida where I live. If you would like me to keep y'all updated, please respond on the board. I've been glued to my tv so I'll do my best to keep you in the loop. Thank you for all you are doing! We support you. I have had a candle lit in my window since 911 and since all the troops have been in Iraq. The candle will stay lit until y'all come home. Godspeed! Cheryl from Central Florida [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
