James Mihalik is a lawyer in town. He might not be able to represent you because he also represents the town. I think Bob Bruener also works at that firm. He is also the Montour DA and Dave Dakota's brother in law. If they cant represent you I am sure they can recommend someone that can. The CGA also has a FREE laywer that is available one night a week in the union.

A couple of years ago another fraternity was busted. The cops charged every brother that lived in the house. The brothers went to court and won the case. The judge ruled that only the brothers that actually purchased, sold or served were guilty. The Press Enterprise ran the story in Sept 2000 titled "Frat brother wins appeal". Jim Sachetti from the PE should be able to email you the story. If you need the exact date I will get back to you.

It is no surprise that you were busted. I am surprised it took this long. A few years ago Dr. Kozloff applied for a state grant called the Bloomsburg Initiative. Most of that money goes to law enforcement. The main target is obviously fraternities and they target the fraternities that have big parties. In the last 5 years about 5 or 6 other fraternities were busted. One way to get around the rules is simply have BYO. All the liability is then shifted to the beer distributers and the students that attend the party. You can still charge because charging for entertainment/food/ is legal. You will actually make way more money. I have been to parties at other schools where there were 500-1000 people at BYO parties. I would rather go to a keg party but is isn't worth a half a million dollar fine and that wasn't even a big party.

Delta Pi can get through this if you stick together and stay positive.
