Academics: Reading & Writing

This week we're going to have the kids select a book from the collections available at site; together you and your mentee will read a selection from it. Following the reading, there will be a questionnaire with 4-6 non-specific questions. We will then ask that you (the mentors) make-up an extra 2 questions specific to the book/story your child read. The kids should all write down their answers in complete sentences. Since academics usually takes 40 minutes; we've planned the actual reading to last about 25 minutes and the questionnaire to take the remaining 15 minutes.
