So sorry to get back to you so late. I have not been feeling well.
There were quite a few people on the line. I don't know if they had a certain number allowed or let everyone who called on.
No one asked about the price of the CD and the only mention he made to selling it was he was trying to reach a goal of what the PCF was getting by the end of the month.
He asked if Jean was on but if she was there she did not say. I was not surprised that she didn't announce herself if she was there..it would have created a monster with everyone wanting to talk to her. It was sad some people took a lot of time by just talking about themselves rather than ask questions. Some people had dogs, kids and noise in the background. At times it was a bit frustrating. Fred talked quite awhile before they opened the lines up. He said Tuscan Arizona Gazette was Dan's favorite song. Netherlands was his favorite album and that he thought To The Morning was a song that expressed most of what Dan was about. The Innocent Age was the most difficult time in his life. The interview was done before a show Dan was doing in Fla. I was surprised to here that Dan was having such a good time doing the interview he kept the crowd waiting 45 mins. The was an additional 10 mins that did not make the CD and he gave MP3's of it to 10 people on the line. Of course I was not one of them.
Deb didn't say a lot. She thanked the fans for all the support of the web site. She mentioned all the get well and then condolence postings that they got and that Jean and was so touched by all the support. She said the new CD will be worth the wait and teased there were other things in the works that the fans were going to love. She said be patient it will be worth the wait. I wish she gave a bit more information but I guess when they have confirmations they will let us know.
Overall it was a good experence.

Nancy, thanks for all the details about the conference call. I appreciate you taking the time to share the experience, and I’m sorry you’ve been ill. I hope you’re feeling better now. I'm a little late in replying to you too, and I wasn't even sick.....I'm just slow.

It sounds like the conference was interesting, although a bit crazy too. Had to laugh about the dogs and kids in the background.....keeping it real, I guess...lol. But the folks wasting time talking about themselves instead of getting to the point......uhhgg, that’s always so frustrating, isn’t it? Some folks just don’t seem to understand the concept of a question and answer session, or the concept of “sharing the stage”. And oh lord, I can imagine there would’ve been even more of that if folks knew Jean was on the line.

As you've probably surmised, the reason I asked about the cost of the CDs and the $3 donation is because initially, (and maybe still), I thought the cost of the CDs was a bit steep, and the $3 donation was a bit cheap. But I did buy the CDs anyway. And I gotta say the recording was very well done.....the sound is excellent. And it might be that the licensing fee for the music was the reason for the high price. So over all, I’m really glad to have the recording, and glad that at least some of the money is being donated in Dan’s name.

Sorry you were not one of the few who got the mp3 of extra interview minutes. What a tease, huh? And honestly, that’s the other little thing about the project that had me shaking my head. When I first read about the bonus minutes and that he was using it as a promotional tool, I was a little perturbed. I can understand that those minutes were cut because maybe they just didn’t flow well on the CD. But giving the bonus mp3 to a select few just seems rude to me, and a wasted opportunity.

Why not offer it to anyone who wants it, for a small donation to the PCF? That would make more sense to me, and would at least help raise a little more money. I doubt there’s much cost involved in making an mp3 download available. I would pay a few bucks for the bonus minutes......as long as ALL the money was going to the PCF. Maybe they could still do that. It would at least help in reaching the $10,000 donation goal.

Anyway, glad to hear Deb mentioned Dan’s new CD and that there are still a few more interesting things to look forward to. I guess we can’t ask for much more than that.

Thanks again, Nancy, for sharing the info with us.

Kelly
