You know, Terra, it's funny that you say that about not *quite* being able to listen to the new CD yet. I feel the same way. In fact, I still haven't listened to Dan's music since he passed - his music is so emotional (at least, *I* think so), and it's difficult, still, to grasp that he's gone.

And certainly, this very last CD is nothing BUT emotional. I try to imagine him putting this collection together, knowing that it would be the last - choosing the songs, reworking some of them, perhaps, recording them, then fine-tuning and mixing them 'til everything met his very high standards. And then putting them away where they wouldn't be touched 'til he was gone.

When I finally *can* work up the strength to listen, I know I'll have a good cry. I'll lament the loss of such a talent and, at the same time, give thanks that he graced this world with his music, his words, and his spirit.

Thanks, Dan...

I'm so sorry that it's still hard for the two of you to listen to Dan. We're all unique in how we deal with a loss. I hope that very soon his voice and his music will again be a comfort to you both.

Kelly

After Dan passed, I could not listen to his music either. I don't think I listened to any music deliberately. If the radio was on in the car, whatever played was fine, I don't think I even heard it. Then Jean released "Sometimes a Song" I had to listen, but I only listened a couple times.
Then one day I just turned my computer on and let it play all day in the background. I love music. How could we live without music? Dan was the center of my musical world, when he passed, that piece of my world was gone, I had to mourn it's loss. I did and still do, but I love the new songs and they need to be celebrated and enjoyed. I hope for years to come new listeners will hear a Dan song and appreciate it's beauty. He has left us a wonderful library of music for future generations to enjoy. I hope somehow that will happen.

B
