I downloaded the Homespun Tapes video lessons of Dan's songs, and just want to say that it's really good. In case anyone was wondering whether to buy it or not, I think it's worth the money. Pete does a great job on these songs, and also conveys a sincere appreciation for Dan's talent. You get the feeling that he really is a fan. I like that.

And it's not just simplified chords like you might find elsewhere, he's tried to work out and show all the intros, solos, and little riffs that Dan plays on the original recordings. I was impressed. It's great, especially if you're like me and struggle to figure out songs on your own. It also includes a pdf file with all the musical notation, chords, and tabs.

The video quality is excellent. If you get the download, you need a good bit of space on your hard drive, though. The total file size is almost 1 gig. So if you don't have a lot a space, you might want to order the DVD instead. I hope it sells well, so he'll continue to do more lessons on Dan's songs.

Hey Steve, you're welcome. I've just started working on "Song From Half Mountain". Always wanted to learn that one, and I love fingerstyle picking. So far, so good. Having fun, but I'll never play like Dan. And of course, my other problem is I can't sing in tune. Nevertheless, I keep trying. :-)
