and a man comes in carrying a bag, he runs up to the place where he sees the horse laying on the ground, he looks at Fox*Howdy ma'am, I came as soon as I heard about it*he looks at the mare lying on the ground, and sees her nostrils flaring, he kneels down and blows into her nostrils a little, trying to keep her still, he pulls a large towel out of his bag and begins wiping away some of the blood so that he can see the severity of the cuts. He begins examining a large cut on her shoulder, and you see him frown slightly as he looks the mare over some more. He examines each of the mare's legs carefully, then gets up and walks over to where Fox is standing*Ma'am, I have some bad news and some good news*It appears that she's torn some ligaments in her left hind leg, and her right fore shoulder seems a little bruised, and maybe cracked, but I don't think it is. The rest of her is just a few cuts which she should get over fairly quickly. I'd worry about that shoulder though, because the cut is quite deep, and that's about it. Make sure she keeps off that leg for a good couple weeks , and keep it well wrapped. I'm just gonna clean her up a little, then I should be almost good to go*he walks back over to the mare, and reaches in his bag, and pulls out a few pain killers, he places his thumb in the side of her mouth to get it to open, then places a pill on her tongue, and watches as she swallows it. He removes the little bit of tack that was still on her, then pulls out some ointment, and begins to pour it into the cuts, spreading it out so that it even, then he begins wrapping a bandagearound the back leg, and quickly wipes the cuts over again with a clean cloth to clean them again. He rubs his hand down the mares neck, and talks to her*Ok girl, I'm gonna go call a truck, then I'm gonna take you back to a barn, and clean you up somemore, okay?*he looks deep into the mares eyes, and senses that she's still in a lot of pain, he turns to Fox*Okay, I'm gonna go call a cab to take you to the hospital to get that arm checked out, and I'm gonna call a friend, and get him to bring a trailer down so I can get your mare back up to the vet. barn so I can finish cleaning her up a little better*he smiles*o by the way my name's Glen...*he walks over to the phone, and quickly makes a few calls, soon you hear a few vehicles pull up outside the race track, and a taxi driver walks in*Someone called?*he looks around. T hen from the other end of the track closer to them youhear a trailer pulls up close to the gate, and a man steps out*Hey Glen, I got your message, what you need?*he spots the mare on the ground*oh....I see....*he looks the mare over quickly, then walks into the truck, a pulls the truck in a couple feet closer to the mare, then he wraps his head under the mares neck, and grips it tightly, and carefully him and Glen help the mare to her feet, then Glen takes the mares right fore leg, and lifts it so that its not touching the ground, then he carefully gets the mare to lean a little of her weight onto him, and they slowly get her into the back part of the trailer, and drive her off to the vet barn*
