Subject: Padfield Family & Shop, 75 St Mary Street, Risca

Hi All,

I've been doing some research into one of the many branches of my family tree which stem from Crosskeys and Risca, and was wondering whether anyone could offer any help... I'm looking for photos of or information about the Padfield family who lived (and ran a shop from) 75 St Mary Street, Risca (also known as Liverpool House) from the 1870s to the 1930s. George Albion Padfield's second wife Ann Hale was my 4x great aunt, and whilst I've managed to uncover a vast amount of documentary evidence on her family and business, I've so far not managed to find a single photo of either the shop or the family. I have a photo of the premises now, which I took on a recent visit to Wales, but it seems the shop front is long gone - would love to see what it used to look like!

Can anyone help?

Paula x

Hi Paula, I'm also related to George Padfield through my great great grandmother Mary Ann Padfield who was his sister x
